Starting Again When Quitting Smoking: Choose Freedom Over Misery
The good thing about starting again is that we can do it literally as many times as we need.
Even if that means we start again and reboot multiple times a day — doing that is better than making the conscious decision to prolong our misery which so many people do.
So, let’s talk about starting again
We sometimes get into this habit where we’ll quit smoking and even though it’s tough, things seem to be working out for us. Then, for any multitude of reasons, something happens and we slip up.
After that slip-up, it’s tempting to think “oh well, I had one cigarette, I may as well smoke the whole packet. I’ll quit again sure, but I’ll do it at some indeterminate date in the future, like tomorrow, or next week, or even the start of the next month.”
Look:
I wish you well no matter which path you choose to take towards freedom from nicotine addiction but please, I implore you:
Start taking that path now.
Not next week, not tomorrow, not even an hour from now, but right now.
Why?
Because the longer we delay starting again, the further we prolong our own misery.
